Remember those days as a youngster heading to the station for a trip to Edinburgh? Keeping your fingers crossed that it was a going to be a DMU on duty that day and that the seats behind the driver were vacant. The view crossing the Forth Bridge over the driver's shoulder was incredible.
We can't repeat the view of the Forth Bridge, but we can provide a view over the driver's shoulder as you pass along the line at Kirkland on the Fife Heritage Railway.
We have paid a deposit for this rare Class 107 coach and are now looking to pay the remainder so it can and move it to Kirkland Yard as soon as possible and be transformed into a useful passenger-carrying carriage.
Research has provided photographic evidence that this actual vehicle was operating in Fife during the 1980's. We want to bring it home to Scotland!
Our target is £10,000 to complete the sale and cover the transport cost to Leven from the South of England, where it is currently located.
Our aim is to have it on site by the end of May 2022 and in use soon after. This will be an important addition to our rolling stock allowing us to carry more passengers and generate the revenue needed to restore our other historic stock.
You can help make this happen please donate now.
