#RallyAround - Raising Awareness of Mental Health in Motorsport

Organised by Menfulness

York father Mick Smith has turned his Micra Menfulness colours to raise funds and awareness for York Charity Menfulness. Mick hopes to raise enough to pay for 5 men to have a full course of counselling.

We bring men together to socialise, exercise, talk and let off steam in a non-judging, friendly and supportive environment. These are all essential for wellbeing and health, both physical and mental. We remove barriers for men to access counselling in order to help deal with the challenges of life.

Story

Veteran rally driver Mick Smith has teamed up with Menfulness to raise awareness and funds towards their affordable men's counselling offer.

Mick hopes that by entering rallies across the region he can help raise awareness within the sport and remind people that it's important we talk about our mental health.

Mick said:

'I want to try and raise enough to put a few blokes through the Menfulness counselling if I can, but most of all I just want to let people know it's alright if you're struggling right now. Keep going, and find someone you can talk to. If you could spare a few quid then we'd be really grateful.'

We will be following Mick to capture some video of him rallying so keep an eye on the Menfulness social media and youtube.
