Story

Andy, ex-Major, British Army

“My name is Andy and I'm an Armed Forces veteran. And through a series of events in life, I lost friends, family, home and health.

I became a shut in. I would lie in bed all day feeling ill and I would only get up to run down to the off licence for more alcohol. And this went on for day after day.

And then I learned of Vector 24, which was great because they were willing to drive me up to the hospital to get my cancer treatment. And through talking to my driver and his knowledge and his skill and his suggestions, I now have my medical assistance dog, which means I'm up every day, I'm out every day because I have to look after my dog as she looks after me.

I attend a weekly outreach group and I also attend counselling and receive support from Veterans First Point. I'm pretty much back in the game.

It was written that there’s faith, hope and charity and the greatest of these is hope. Well Vector 24 had faith in me and through their charity I have regained my hope.

If you see them please talk to them, please help them because if you need their help they most definitely will help you. Thank you.”
