Thornbury Rotary Malaria Eradication Campaign

The most deadly animal to humans by far is the mosquito. One variety transmits malaria causing 500,000 deaths every year. Thornbury Rotary is supporting the action group 'Rotarians Against Malaria - Global' (RAM Global), and we need your help!

The club has contributed significantly to the life of the town and surrounding district since 1971. It has raised over a half million pounds during that time and used this to support a wide range of charities & local good causes with emphasis on youth, the elderly and those in real need of support.

Story

In 2023 over 247 million cases of malaria were reported worldwide and over 608.000 deaths in kids under age 10. We are raising funds to support the work of RAM-Global, a Rotary Action Group that is leading the effort to eradicate malaria world-wide. Please see home page:

If you would like to find out more about the disease and the efforts being made to eradicate it, please visit our stand at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol on 25th April, which is World Malaria Day.

Your donation will be used for bed nets, microscopes, training, drugs, insecticides, swamp drainage and approved vaccines.
