Who are we?

The Sea Cadets is an amazing organistion offering a different kind of adventure to young people between 10 to 18 years old.

Funding

We have strong links to the Royal Navy who supply our uniforms, but we do not receive any external financial assistance. Every penny we need to run our unit has to be from cadet subs and general fundraising.

What we do

Here at our iconic building in Ramsgate harbour we have over 30 juniors and cadets and offer a variety of outdoor activities such as rowing, power boating and yachting whilst achieving lifelong qualifications from organisations such as the Royal Yachting Association. In addition to this they can learn about navigation, first aid, seamanship, catering, ceremonial skills, radio and communication, the Duke of Edinburgh awards, engineering and so much more.

The benefits

Very quickly our young people develop leadership skills, motivation, self-belief, confidence, skills they never considered, attend training courses around the country and have summer camps plus the support of an incredibly dedicated group of volunteers. Here at Ramsgate, we concentrate on assisting with careers advice and information no matter which path they may choose.
