The Hamish Foundation works tirelessly in their campaign to raise funds for Beach Wheelchairs for the West Sands beach and to increase access for all.The chairs are also golf course friendly and improving access for all is a key ambition of the charity.

It is hugely important that the wheelchairs are available whenever possible to enable beach access and for all to enjoy the wonderful and safe outdoor space of the West Sands beach. The St Andrews Environmental Trust are now involved in the delivery of the operations of the beach wheelchairs with an army of volunteers supporting.

We have completed the provision of a changing places facility and an accessible walkway and viewing platform and we are now looking to upgrade some of the chairs. A reclining debug beach wheelchair will enable an increasing number of people to use the facilities.
