Since 2011, we have delivered over 22,000 hours of Trauma Recovery Focused clinical work provided to over 1465 clients and developed our service involving the needs of client families.
After experiencing trauma, people deserve to get the support they need quickly, to process and make sense of what happened and ultimately recover... we know that waiting lists of a year upwards and being met by offers of short term support are the norm, but we believe things can be better! We are committed to advocate for funding and believe with long term trauma recovery support, recovery is possible.
There are few charities that exist with our specialism, and we are increasingly seeing CAMHS / other specialist services referring to us because we have a track record of seeing extraordinary positive changes.
Research informs us that 1 in 3 diagnosed mental health conditions in adulthood are known to directly relate to adverse childhood experiences. We want to see that changed!
Client aged 15: The TRC has helped me because it makes me know and feel like I have somebody to talk to about everything and anything I want. TRC has helped me because when I come here I let all my feelings out and be honest. I dont feel pressured to say anything but I know I can say whatever. TRC has also helped me because every time I leave my sessions I feel a bit better about myself because Ive let some of the feelings Ive been wanting to let out. TRC has helped because I can come regular so my feelings dont feel like theyve been trapped for a long time. I feel like I can say whatever at TRC because everybodys friendly here.
