Turkey hosts "the largest number of refugees worldwide, with close to 4.1 million refugees, including 3.7 million Syrians and nearly 400,000 asylum-seekers and refugees of other nationalities." (Source: UNHCR Report)

As Turkey Mozaik Foundation, we have, in the past, put in our efforts around this cause that is very close to our hearts by:

-Creating awareness around the issue : we have organised a special screening of the film "The Guest", followed by Q&A with the Director Andac Haznedaroglu (Please see below the video)

-Providing financial support to a number of organisations who have either exclusively worked on this issue, or had projects that involved refugees, such as

As many of you are aware, an urgent humanitarian crisis involving Syrian refugees unfolded in the Turkey/Greece border and waters as of 27 February escalating the need for urgent help. Please see the report from Amnesty International here: The situation at Greece's borders | Amnesty International

What We Do:

Based on the initial assessment of our grantee Support to Life (Hayata Destek Dernegi) "Food for babies and young children" has been identified as the most immediate requirement.

Jointly with Support Foundation for Civil Society, we have already mobilised GBP 10,000 (equivalent to TRY 81,000) to support Support to Life (Hayata Destek) and meet this critical need as well as procure other critical goods and services. Please see their report.

We have now launched our Refugee Fund that will be open for the foreseeable future. We will continue to work closely with all our contacts to provide the most efficient help and funding for organisations that work to improve the livelihoods and integration of the refugees by bringing solutions to this humanitarian crisis through direct assistance, research and advocacy.
