Story
This page has been set up in remembrance of Karen Abrams.
There will be a Memorial Thanksgiving Service for Karen at 2 pm (UK time) on Saturday, 12 August, at Christ Church, South Nutfield.
Revd Len Abrams wishes to honour his beloved wife's memory by asking for donations towards Positive Action in Housing's Room for Refugees programme, as this was a cause dear to Karen's heart. (See Readers Digest and the Guardian).
Karen and Len volunteered with, and supported, Positive Action in Housing since 2015, when the Syrian refugee crisis began. They were ambassadors for our Room for Refugees programme. Together, they provided shelter and pastoral support to people from refugee backgrounds and encouraged others to get involved too. A message from Revd Len Abrams, Karen's husband:
"Karen was a passionate supporter of the rights of others. Together we were blessed to host several super people in our home through the work of Positive Action in Housing. Karen provided friendship, comfort and support to them over the years. I know she would have liked any gifts in her memory to support the frontline work of the staff and volunteers at Positive Action in Housing. By coming together and supporting an important cause for Karen, we can create a lasting impact that genuinely honours her memory.
