Story
Every summer as the temperatures soar, we face the impossible....but with your help, we can make it; with your help we can save lives.
Being volunteer ran and receiving no government or corporate funding, we rely on donations from individuals in the community to keep our doors open. Our biggest cost without a doubt is the fuel needed to run our generator, without which our animals would die, as they rely completely on the Aircon in these 50° plus temperatures. It costs QR700 (£150) every day just for this.
The summer is always the hardest as more animals are abandoned, and residents leave the country for cooler climates. But not us, we cannot leave those in our care, and will always try our best to help in an emergency (of which there are many). Every day, we receive dozens of messages and emails asking to help an animal on the street who is in, but with limited funds and resources we struggle to save them all.
We fund all vet care and emergency vet services when needed. All the animals need microchips, regular vaccinations, worming, tick treatments, sterilisation, dentals and food. Of course we could not function without our amazing team who take care of all our residents throughout the year. Every single day of the year- we make sure they feel safe and all their needs are met.
With debts in excess QR200,000 (£42,000) on top of our monthly outgoings, we have no choice but to ask for your mercy. After all it isn't for us, it's for those in our care now, and those we can help in the future. It's always all for them.
From them and us, thank you all so much.
