Across Africa many people are buying dogs with the aim of using them to guard their homes and stop crime. However, the harsh effects of poverty means that they cannot look after them and these dogs often end up abandoned on the streets.

Now, with over 70 million dogs abandoned on the streets of Africa it is a full time job rescuing, rehoming and rehabilitating them. And we cannot do this vital work without the support of people like you!

It all started when Max, black and white pitball came into our township school, injured, scared and clearly not eaten in a while it took 2-3 days of feeding him and slowly getting his trust. We decided a new rescue project was critical here as every shelter and charity we called was full or wouldn't help. Max had never been in a car before so it took ages for me to get him out the township, we stopped in a local park and it was clear he had never seen grass before and he sat on my lap for 2 hours before standing on the grass. Passers by came to meet him and we soon found him a foster family, with funds raised through our program we covered his vet bills, steralised surgery, food and re-homing costs that came in just over £1,400.

Since then our local team have been called out over 400 times to rescue dogs from abuse or left on the street, we work the police to bring people to justice but today we have vet bills over £4,000 and each week we struggle to raise £247 for the dog food for the 48 dogs we currently have at out farm going through rehab with professionals before we can put them up for adoption.
