Story
RBD 319G is a unique survivor of the Bristol RELL6G buses delivered to United Counties.

It was delivered to United Counties in 1968 and served with the company until 1986, one of the last two examples in service. During its service life with United Counties, it was involved in two major accidents where it sustained serious damage and was lucky to be rebuilt after both of these incidents.

After leaving United Counties, it then served for another two years with Belfast Citybus during the Troubles, when many other buses succumbed to vandalism or arson.

After it’s service life in Belfast, it was brought back to Bedfordshire, and subsequently repainted in NBC green livery. It was parked up in 2000 with fuel pump issues and from there began a spiral of severe decline whilst in outside storage.
The UCPG took over ownership of 319 in 2018, and with help from Chepstow Classic Buses removed it from the farm where it had become stranded. Work has commenced on returning 319 to the road including removal of the rotten floor and repairs to the chassis.

At the present time, our current funds cannot stretch to completing a full restoration despite the progress we have made in the last few years. Raising money will allow us to continue with the work required and prevent further decline in the condition of 319.
Our REstore 319 appeal is looking to raise £40,000 to return the bus to the road in fully restored condition.
