Reunite a Family for Christmas

J is an asylum seeker who has been separated from his wife and very young children for 2 years. This year he has the chance to spend some time with them over Christmas, but can't afford the travel costs. Can you help to reunite this lovely family?

Asylum seekers and refugees face many challenges when they arrive in a strange country where they may not understand the language. We provide practical help for new arrivals - show them the area, help them to register with a doctor and dentist, help with legal matters and support their integration.

Story

Js life was in danger in his home country so he fled to the UK two years ago. He is now an Asylum Seeker who has been living in Lancaster for more than a year.

Recently the situation became even more perilous in his home country and his wife and children also had to claim asylum in Britain. Thankfully they are safe now: but they are currently housed in the south of England.

J has not been able to spend Christmas with his family for more than two years; and his youngest child is just four years old. J would love to be his family this year as they are finally all in the same country again. The problem is that he does not have the money he needs to travel to see them or for subsistence while he is away from Lancaster over the festive season. Asylum seekers are given just a very small allowance per week to live on.

We are aiming to raise £300 to enable this family to be reunited for Christmas and enjoy meals and spend time together again.
