Story
I have a habit of doing impulsive physical activities with little or no preparation. This all started in 1997 when I ran the London Marathon with 2 weeks notice. It didn’t end well!!
More recently I have completed in Nuclear races in the spring (not completely awful) and in the winter. (Absolutely awful) as well as several bike rides across Europe in order to raise much needed money for charities.
This year is no different. But in a way will be one of my biggest challenges yet. At the end of July this year, I am taking on an Olympic distance triathlon. This includes 1500m open water swim, 40km bike ride and 10km road run. One after the other, with no stopping. The aim for this year is to raise as much money as I can for this amazing charity of which I am proud to say I have been a trustee for the last 2 years; Sycamore Trust UK. Sycamore provide vital support to the autistic community in Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge.
I will be joined by my Son, Alfie George, a 26 year old fitness freak who will delight in watching me cross the line after him.
If you can support us in our quest to complete, what is genuinely a real test of endurance then I would be extremely grateful.
Many thanks, Richard
