As a hospice, we are continuing to battle economic uncertainty, with the needs of our children and families being greater than ever before due to the cost of living. The current economic turmoil is causing many of our families to be extremely worried about whether theyll be able to heat their home or charge their childrens life-saving equipment. Many of the children who are wheelchair bound feel the cold more as they are less mobile, and many have weakened immune systems, meaning the heating must be on throughout winter. So for these families, cutting down on energy usage isnt a choice its literally a matter of life and death.
We're already seeing demand for our respite care and short stay breaks sky rocket, particularly during school holidays. Many are also looking to use our day care more frequently to reduce energy usage at home. We are determined that this support will be there for our families in the coming months.
We need your help more than ever. The cost of living is hitting many families very hard, but this is especially the case for families like mine with life-limited children. Demand for the services Richard House offers are set to increase over the coming months, as families try to give their children opportunities for fun and happiness on ever decreasing disposable incomes. This Christmas would you consider a gift of <<£Ask1>>, so that Richard House can continue to provide much needed care and support, and meet the ever-growing demand for their services from families like mine who must continue caring for their child whilst facing yet another crisis? - Maureen (Richard House mum)
Please support Richard House this winter so we can provide support to more families stretched to the limit.
