Rohan was diagnosed at 4 years old. He doesn’t fully understand his diagnosis yet, but he knows that his muscles are different, that he falls over more than other kids and can’t keep up with all the games. Over time, as his muscles deteriorate he will be confined to a wheelchair and need more care and support.

Eventually he will develop cardiac and respiratory issues amongst other conditions. There is currently no cure, and treatments that prolong muscle strength have trade-offs.

He is a happy, cheeky, opinionated kid and we are determined to support him every step of the way.

This would be so much harder without the support of MDUK and the wider Duchenne community. The dedication to advancing research, supporting families, and spreading awareness is incredible.
