Meet Rik

When Rik appeared on the Dog Aid Scotland website, his future family weren't sure they were ready for another dog.

After losing their beloved Collie, they had been wondering whether they should welcome another dog into their lives at all. Then they saw Rik.

At 11 years old, Rik was looking for a new home. He also had an ongoing medical condition requiring medication. For many older dogs, challenges like these can make finding a loving home more difficult.

But Rik's family saw something special in him.

"As soon as he walked in the door, wagging his tail and so friendly, we instantly knew he was here to stay."

Today, Rik is twelve and a half years old and thriving with the family who love him.

His family describe him as "a complete joy."
