After the resounding success of Ben and Nathan’s fundraising efforts last year, two more Poplar rowers are testing their land legs and preparing to run the London Marathon 2027 for the club. Rita Newland and Yara Nascimento will be squaring up to this incredible challenge to raise money for various club needs, including the infamous clubhouse roof repairs.

The club is excited and proud to be represented again, and grateful for every donation. It’s through the continued support of club and community members that PBDRC can go from strength to strength, providing opportunities to row, race, and participate in a longstanding tradition of community spirit.

Rita says ‘I’ve been a member of the club for more than 10 years and it has become a significant part of my life. Running the marathon gives me a chance to give something back’. Yara, who joined us more recently after the summer learn to row course, says ‘I wanted to represent the club and show my appreciation and gratitude for being part of this community’.

Every contribution is valuable to the club, so thank you for your generosity. Do join us at Rita and Yara’s fundraising events at the club for more PBDRC fun!
