....now it's time for a pizza and well-earned rest.

11th June: Horrible weather for the final stretch to Plymouth, these were the only people outside with me!

9 June: my goal was to reach Rame Head in the sunlight, awesome! Got to the chapel at Rame Head. Spent an hour with the brilliant volunteers Anne & Andrew of Rame Head of National Coast Watch institution. Heard all about the work they do to keep people safe!

My Story
Dementia is heartbreaking. Watching someone you love fade as the disease progresses is cruel, and like so many of you, I’ve seen firsthand how devastating it can be. That’s why this year, I’ve chosen to take action and raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK, the UK’s leading dementia research charity.
This Dementia Action Week (18–24 May), I’ll be kicking off a huge personal challenge:
Walking from Land’s End to Plymouth — 153 miles along the South West Coast Path.
My goal is to raise £15,000, which works out at £100 for every mile I walk. Every step I take will move us closer to a future where dementia is prevented, treated, and ultimately cured — but I truly can’t do it without your support.
There’s no denying this hike will test me.
After 56 years of football, my knees have definitely seen better days, and I’ll be taking on steep coastal gradients and long days on my feet. A lot of strength training (and determination!) will be needed to get me there.
What keeps me motivated is the growing evidence that staying physically and socially active can have a positive effect on brain health and may help delay the onset of dementia. That belief — and the stories of people I’ll meet along the way — will be powering me forward.
I’ll be walking west to east, following the rising sun for inspiration. And I’d love your help keeping me going!
