The Rochdale Barrel Walk is a unique charity challenge organised by Rochdale Round Table, bringing the community together for a fun day of teamwork, local pubs, and fundraising for incredible local causes.
On Saturday 13th June at 11:00am, teams of four to six will take on the challenge of carrying a full beer barrel around a 7-mile route. It’s a test of teamwork, stamina, and good humour – all while raising vital funds for charity.
Whether you’re walking, supporting, or just coming along for the atmosphere, it promises to be a fantastic day for everyone involved.
The Challenge
Teams of four to six people will work together to carry a full beer barrel across a 7 mile route, passing through some of Rochdale’s favourite pubs. Each stop offers a chance to rest, refresh, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow walkers.
It’s not a race — it’s about team spirit, community, and raising money for great causes.
Fancy Dress is highly encouraged and there will be prizes for the best dressed team.
Supporting Local Charities
This year the Rochdale Barrel Walk is raising money for three amazing charities that do vital work in our community:
Springhill Hospice – Providing compassionate palliative care and support for patients and families across Rochdale.
Jolly Josh – Supporting families affected by childhood cancer and helping children live life to the fullest.
Moorland Children’s Home – Offering care, support, and opportunities for young people in need.
Every step taken and every pound raised helps make a real difference.

The walking might finish, but the day doesn’t stop there.
From 3:00pm onwards, everyone is invited to enjoy the post-walk celebration featuring:
Live band entertainment
Food stalls
Drinks and a fantastic community atmosphere
