Story
St Pauls’ Church, Highfield is one of the poorest suburbs of the capital of Zimbabwe, Harare. Due to an inflation rate of 176% many people go hungry. We will overcome the inflation issue by depositing our donations in a US dollar nominated account from which they can draw funds as they purchase the food. We have visited the church and know how vital their support for the community can be and have constant reports of their activities. Not only do they regularly visit villages to donate food, they also hold medical days with volunteer doctors and nurses for those who cannot afford to pay for treatment and provide the medicines. Although we often think of Zimbabwe as a hot country, they are also giving our blankets because the overnight temperature fell to 6C in July and their homes are unheated.
