Creswell Crags needs your help now, more than ever!

2023 is a special year for Creswell Heritage Trust as we celebrate 20 years since the discovery our 12,000 year old Ice Age rock art, the first to be discovered in Britain, and 5 years since the discovery of our famous Witch Marks - the largest known assemblage of protective marks ever found in Britain.

Despite the international importance of these discoveries, Creswell Crags still rely on donations from our supporters to survive, as well as the income from tours and exhibition fees, parking, our shop and café.

We need your help to continue protecting 50,000 years of human history for generations to come and to discover more about our ancestors, through further research.

Research is ongoing and there are still many gaps to fill in our knowledge and understanding of the site, and how it contributes to the wider story of human history.

'The Crypt' is one of our research priorities. Identifying and sorting the finds from this recently excavated cave will provide new information about the Ice Age climate and the species that lived here, but is a very skilled and time-consuming process.

Your donation will be used to support future research and to help us protect and conserve the rare and very important heritage that is cared for by Creswell Heritage Trust, including the caves, the archaeological and palaeontological collections and the archaeological remains that are present across the site.
