Story
Without donations, we don't have money to protect the Stones and the site would soon crumble and be overgrown. Our Friends subscribe each year to help, and we ask the public to contribute only a very small entrance fee so that the Stones can be accessible to all. Additional donations help us cover the cost of grass cutting, fence and railing maintenance, tree management, pathway maintainance, information provision, wardening costs, and exciting recent projects such as buying the King Stone and its field, and looking forward to creating a wildflower meadow. Donations also help us carry out archaeological investigations to discover more of the history of the site as a whole; one recent project revealed the 'Saxon Lady' burial, which is still being examined by Oxford University.
