We are appealing for financial help to fund an operation for a lovely cat called Ronnie. Sadly Ronnie has necrosis of the head of the femurs in both hips. This is causing him pain and discomfort and will affect his mobility later in life. It will cause age related issues including arthritis as he gets older. He is currently doing well on pain relief at the moment, but he does go through periods of being very uncomfortable.
The surgery he requires is called a femoral head and neck excision; this is where an orthopedic surgeon will cut off and permanently remove the head and neck of the femur. This will essentially change the joint from being a ball and socket joint, to being more like a gliding joint. He needs this on both sides, so will require two costly, but essential surgeries.
This surgery will help make him more comfortable, and will stop the bone on bone rubbing which is causing him pain. He can then enjoy all the things that other cats love. Chasing, climbing, scratching and stretching out in the sun.
If you can help us by making a small donation towards Ronnie's surgeries, we would be ever so grateful for your support.
