Story
Over the past 5 years, Christ Church, with the help of its congregation, supporters and Friends, have completed major works to rebuild its new Community Centre, renovate the church interior to make it welcoming, accessible, warm and well lit.
People visit us to worship, get married, Christen their children, listen to all sorts of music, appreciate great beer and ciders, support local charities by coming to our Christmas market, research their ancestors, say goodbye to a loved one or just come to sit and enjoy the beauty and silence of the building which is open to all, every day.
Now we need to finish the job by replacing our aging roof which will secure the building for many years to come. Much of the work has already been completed but the high level access afforded by the roofing scaffolding has revealed the need for masonry, glazing and other works which we need to address.
There are approximately 19,000 finest quality Welsh slates on the roof - a donation of just £12 buy 3 and will help us to complete this once in a lifetime repair.
Ridge Stone Memorials - We have also launched a scheme to invite donations towards the cost of each ridge stone (£275). These can be made as memorials to family members and will be recorded in our Memorials database for future generations.
