We have created a community in a place that is about love and care. And the true meaning of Christmas.

We have Room at our Inn and we'd love to ask you to give up one thing this year or one gift to make a gift to help us help parents make children who are refugees here feel that they matter too like other children.

We have our city centre hub, 3 floors of welcome from a social room for a brew and chat to our clothing and aid space or our children's play room.

£25 pays for fruit for 2 weeks at the hub

£30 trains a refugee volunteer

We formed in 2015 when Jane, the founder, went to Macedonia to help get some aid released for customs in Skopje. Jane was in the Balkans helping feed and clothe refugees in a transit camp by a train station that had initially no help at all. With a Greek friend she formed Island2Island to move aid from Lesvos island which had all media attention and moved it to Chios Island that had, at the time, almost no help, and many arrivals by boat.

We have fundraised over £300,000 to date as a small charity but we have sent containers of aid, we have rebuilt the children's ward of Sinjar Hospital in Iraq after the ISIS genocide along with Sally Becker who is known as the Angel of Mostar. We have paid for surgeries for children, airlifted children from Iraq for surgery/ reunification and have fed and clothed tens of thousands of people in Macedonia, Greece, Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey, Syria, Ukraine.

We have, until last August, been solely grassroots volunteers, we now have just one part time member of staff, with funding bids in for more as we struggle to cope with the need locally in Wrexham to welcome people with even just basic items. For us as well it is about the human side of war, trauma and conflict and we opened a refugee hub in Wrexham last September. It had been a dream for year as we knew this was a gap. It has exceeded what we thought it would do and become with refugees now coming from Denbighshire and Flintshire.

We now have:

*Our aid/ donations unit

*Our refugee 'HOME' hub in Wrexham city centre where people meet for tea, foodsharing, workshops, english lessons, social get togethers, wellbeing, zumba, for arts and craft and to get help with basic need/ aids and also help with the kind of things friends and family usually would if you were with them and not alone

*A community garden (with launch funding from Kew Gardens) where people can grow food, spend time doing gardening and meet other people

*A choir that is partnered now and part of New Sinfonia 'New Voices' choir thanks to our work with Robert and Jonathan Guy

*A program of music events, social events (including our famous Pikachu Discos) and art workshops

*Bikes refurb and bike share from the hub

*A bank of volunteers who are refugees and asylum seekers who form the voice of the hub and shape our future
