ROTARY STEPS UP TO SUPPORT UKRAINE

As our community would expect, Rotary Newton Aycliffe is currently putting in place fundraising systems to enable us to assist Ukraine in as many ways as possible.

2 DAY COLLECTION FOR THE PEOPLE OF UKRAINE (Report below added 14/03/2022)

Our volunteers have been diligently working hard to raise funds last weekend for the people of Ukraine. A few days ago, Rotary Newton Aycliffe received a call from Tesco asking if we would like to come into the store for 2 days (12/03/2022 & 13/03/2022) and do a bucket collection. We had very little time to prepare so posters, a pull-up, stickers and buckets were quickly made ready, and the call went out from President Gary Blenkinsopp for willing helpers.

As usual, Rotarians did not disappoint but neither did our wonderful community. Shoppers in the store and visitors to our Just Giving site have raised almost £2,500 in just a few days.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated and massive thanks to Tesco Extra management for making it possible. Our collection bin and pull-up will remain in store for those who would still like to donate.
