Our RockSolid response to COVID-19 at Douglas & Mid Craigie Church of Scotland has certainly developed in the two weeks!

By way of a wee update:

- Last Monday 30th March we started distributing 45 lunches per day Mon - Fri to local people and families thanks to Dundee Bairns. Today 8th April, that has increased to nearly 200 lunches per day with Dundee Bairns and Social Bite.

- The Larder has grown from maybe 20 households accessing it on our first run to today nearer 100 households (it is a rough estimate, we opened at 1.50pm and finished at 3.20pm with a constant stream).

- We also are providing food parcels by delivery as required, to those isolated, vulnerable or unable to leave their home.

We received a large delivery from FareShare today (8/4/20) for our Larder for today and Friday and there is very little left over after today. We are running very low on shelf food for our food parcels too.

If you are able, we would very much appreciate donations of shelf-foods such as: Cereal, tinned meat/fish, beans, soup, etc. They can be dropped into the church (just leave at table in car park) between 11-2 each day Mon-Fri.

We are working in close collaboration with Dundee City Council, DVVA and Faith in Community Dundee in providing this community-based response to COVID-19 and looking forward expect to continue to be directly involved for at least the next few weeks complimenting support provided to particular groups of people by statutory services and the local authority.

Since posting the above on facebook, people have asked if they can make a cash donation. This campaign will allow you to do so safely.
