Because they have suffered enough

RSPCA Woodside is a self funded Branch that provides Rescue, Rehabilitation and Rehoming to Dogs and Cats in Need! On Friday 30th January our team received 12 Crossbreed Dogs and they need your help on their road to recovery.

RSPCA Woodside rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes hundreds of neglected and abandoned animals each year. We receive no funding from the government or the central RSPCA, relying on the generous support of the public and local businesses to keep the centre running.

Story

On Friday 30th January 2026, RSPCA Woodside stepped in to support our National Society by taking in 12 dogs from a home where they were living in unsuitable conditions.

All of the dogs are crossbreeds, believed to be crossed with poodles, and sadly their coats were severely matted. Whilst in our care, every dog has been vet checked and we are treating any conditions that have been found, these are mainly to do with there eyes and ears. .

As soon as they arrived, our team worked tirelessly over 48 hours to gently shave and groom them so they could finally feel comfortable.

The dogs are currently under the care of our veterinary team at Barney Bella for their medical needs and our animal care team for their daily welfare and kennel care. They are showing limited social skills with humans and appear frightened and unsure of their new surroundings, having relied heavily on each other for comfort.

Together, we are starting them on their road to recovery. This will take time, patience and specialist care, but we are fully committed to helping these dogs heal, gain confidence and thrive, so that they can go on to find the loving homes they deserve in the weeks and months ahead.
