Story
In October 2025, we’ll be lacing up our boots and taking on something huge, a 100-mile journey from Rotherham to Northampton. It’s our way of celebrating 100 years of Rotherham United, but more importantly, it’s about raising vital funds to change lives here in our town.
Over four days, we’ll walk, run and cycle through Mansfield, Loughborough and Market Harborough before finally reaching Northampton Town FC in time for the Millers’ fixture. It won’t be easy, but every mile has meaning.
Our goal is to raise over £10,000 for Rotherham United Community Trust. That money will go directly into projects that matter most, supporting people with their mental health, helping those recovering from illness, giving children safe spaces and opportunities to thrive, and reaching 100 schools through our landmark centenary programme.
RUCT will also be supporting local organisations with the money raised, one of these amazing charity partners is Mums In Need. Mums In Need is a specialist charity working with mothers experiencing ongoing post-separation abuse – a form of coercive control that continues even after leaving an abusive relationship. This invisible and often unrecognised form of abuse impacts women’s mental health, financial stability, and parenting, with long-term consequences for family life. RUCT will be donating a minimum of £500 to Mums In Need to support their amazing work.
Rotherham is a town full of resilience and pride. By backing this challenge, you’re helping us make sure no one gets left behind. Together, we can turn 100 miles into thousands of brighter futures.
Everyone in Rotherham: United, Successful and Living Well.
