Ruils is a user-led charity supporting disabled children & adults, people with long-term health conditions & the elderly to live independently, be part of their community and live life to the full. We provide information, advice, advocacy, befriending and activities to our clients & their families.

Story

A team of our staff and supporters are trekking the Thames Path this September to raise much needed funds for Ruils Children’s services.

Ruils Independent Living is a local charity that supports disabled people to live independent lives. Our children’s services provide parents and carers with information, advice and support which enables them to secure vital school, community and home support for their child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The SEND system is complex and it can be an uphill battle for a family to access the support that will enable their child to reach their potential. Through information, advice, advocacy, specialist befriending and accessible activities, our Children’s Services support children & young people with SEND to get the best possible start in life, for example by supporting them to get the right Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for their child.

“Ruils has become like another member of our family. From advice about what support was available for our family’s evolving needs, sign-posting for specialised issues, providing a sympathetic ear, to giving us the opportunity to meet an incredible Befriender, we could never thank you enough for all that you do.”

Please support us as generously as you can to help transform young lives . Thank you.
