Every day around 57 children in the UK are diagnosed with a critical illness, and we are seeing a sharp rise in the number of children coming to us with less than a year to live. We need help to meet this urgent demand now - they cannot wait, and we cannot ask them to.

That’s why running 57 Miles in August – for the 57 children diagnosed daily – is so important. You'll be helping children like Oliver, who wished to have a spa pool.

A diagnosis of a rare genetic disorder has left three-year-old Oliver with a short and uncertain prognosis. ‘We were told that he could die imminently,’ said mum Lia. With no treatment available, Mum was told to ‘take lots of pictures and make as many memories as possible’. She wanted to find a way of bringing comfort to Oliver as often as possible, whilst she still could. So, after visiting a hydrotherapy pool and seeing just how relaxed Oliver became in the warm water, Mum thought that a spa pool would provide the perfect piece of relaxation and fun for Oliver.
