There are over 88,000 children in the care system across England & Wales. This system intended to provide stability, is fast becoming a system in crisis, struggling to provide children with the support, care and tools they need to thrive.
Often reporting feeling isolated and uninspired, young people in care tell us

At NYAS (The National Youth Advocacy Service), we are committed to being there for care-experienced children, young people and vulnerable adults. We ensure that no child or young person is ever alone or voiceless in the care system, in the family court or where others are making decisions about their future that profoundly affect their lives.
We are at the forefront of championing for children’s rights, leading on preventing and ending social injustice faced by care experienced children and young people, tirelessly campaigning to secure a world where children’s rights aren’t just recognised, but are celebrated!

We offer a range of services that advocate for care experienced people's rights and give them a voice to be heard. We provide volunteer independent visitors who befriend a young person, often being the only adult in their life who isn't paid to be there.

We also proudly deliver a range of Social Awareness Campaigns, from lobbying parliament for national policy change, to working with local authorities to trigger improvements on a local scale.

Every penny raised will enable NYAS to continue to support, safeguard and empower care experienced children, young people and adults in vulnerable situations.
- £15 could fund a call to the NYAS National Helpline, giving a child access to confidential support and guidance.
- £30 could cover the cost for a volunteer and a young person to meet, giving them access to a consistent and reliable role model and friend.
- £50 could enable NYAS to raise a child in care’s voices through advocacy and participation.
