Story

For many facing a cancer diagnosis, learning to live with and to manage their condition during and beyond treatment can be a daunting and challenging prospect.

The charity works conscientiously in its endeavours to address and understand the needs, preferences, and behaviours of its audience enabling it to create and tailor experiences that resonate with them and support their desired needs. The engagement framework the charity adopts is to make a proactive and positive contribution in providing opportunities and resources to support specific needs that empower, enable and connect with cancer patients. This we do by working collaboratively building on knowledge and shared learning, listening and hearing audience needs and being innovative in our deliveries and addressing barriers in terms of accessibility, signposting and free provision.

Our services are all inclusive and aim to encompass the whole community at community level.

In our research many express that they feel their cancer journey commences when treatment ends. This is also the time clinical intervention subsides and most feel lonely and isolated.

At C.A.R.S. we aim to provide a stepping stone targeted to support individuals following the conclusion of treatment to re-engage in life. This not only supports their condition management moving forwards but provides an opportunity to meet others who have had similar experiences and help rebuild their confidence, self-esteem and self worth. The life-force of the charity is to ensure that every person experiencing a cancer diagnosis has the opportunity to regain a sense of wellbeing that had been lost from diagnosis through surgery and into recovery.

Raising funds is a crucial part of our work enabling the charity to provide our services free of charge on an ongoing basis. A huge thank you goes out to our intrepid runners, their hard work training and their desire to support the charity's work. Thank you!
