The Rory Peck Trust provides practical & financial support to freelance journalists and their families worldwide, assisting in times of crisis and helping them work more safely and professionally. We do this through assistance grants, our training fund, and online resources, as well as our Awards.

Story

On Sunday 13th October 2024, runners across the news and media industry are taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon in support of the Rory Peck Trust and freelance journalists who take great risks to bring us important news stories from around the world.

Right now, we are witnessing an attack on democracy and journalists are being wounded, imprisoned, forced into exile and killed as a result of their work.

All funds raised by our dedicated runners will go to the Rory Peck Trust and its work supporting, training and helping to protect freelance journalists so they can continue their work, contributing to international newsgathering and upholding our democratic freedoms.

Please support the runners and our work by making a donation.

Thank you from the RPT team & freelance journalists worldwide.
