Story
Founded by Frances and Patrick Connolly, The PFC Trust believes that everyone deserves the chance to thrive, no matter their circumstances. Through strategic grant funding and community partnerships, the Trust supports projects that tackle some of the most pressing issues facing our communities — including mental health, grass route sports, poverty, education, social isolation, and youth opportunity.
Since it was established, The PFC Trust has helped hundreds of organisations deliver life-changing projects. From supporting mental health programmes and community hubs, to funding youth initiatives, sports programmes, and grassroots organisations that are often the lifeline of their communities — the Trust works to ensure funding reaches the people and projects that make a real difference.
By supporting this run, you are helping to continue that impact.
Every donation helps The PFC Trust invest in projects that:
Support mental health and wellbeing
Create opportunities for young people
Strengthen local communities
Help individuals facing hardship build a better future
The Great North Run is an incredible challenge — 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields — but knowing that every mile helps raise funds for projects changing lives across the region makes every step worthwhile.
If you are able to support, any donation — big or small — will make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for helping us change lives together.
