Story
Vista changes lives. As the leading local charity working with children and adults with sight loss in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, we are passionate about providing the very best services; in hospitals, at home and in the local community.
Founded in 1859, Vista has a long and proud history of supporting people with sight loss. An estimated 35,870 people in the region are living with sight loss, with projections suggesting this figure will reach 44,380 by 2030. As a charity Vista fundraises to pay for crucial additional community services, which are shaped by the needs of service users, and help to promote equity, boost wellbeing, independence and quality of life for people with sight loss. All of Vista’s work is guided by three key priorities: promotion of eye health to prevent avoidable sight loss, reduction of the impact of sight loss, and provision of support and care for people affected by sight loss. In the past year we supported over 13,000 people. Unprecedented, growing demand means the need for our services has never been greater. Vista’s Children and Young People Service provides a comprehensive suite of support for young people aged 0-18 and up to 25 for those in education, and their families who are also impacted.
