We are fundraising for the University of Plymouth's Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. Just one medical discovery can touch millions of lives. We award funding to vital research equipment and support the healthcare professionals of tomorrow.

Story

Tory Wren was a 20-year old, lively, talented, 3rd year medical student ‘living her dream’ when she was struck down overnight in 2022 by a ‘silent’ pulmonary embolus. Tory was already an enthusiast for medical research and in her memory Claire and Stephen, her parents, generously founded a charity in her memory. In 2024 the fund went towards local research into Parkinson’s. In support, the PMF recruited a team, comprising mostly Tory’s medical student friends, to take part in the Great West Run in Exeter on Sunday 25th May. Through the runners efforts, £4000 was added to the fund.

Runners will again be running in Tory's memory to fundraise for this year's campaign for Brain Tumour Research in the Southwest.
