Adam's Run: A Legacy of Support
Why I'm Running for SCB
"I have had an interest in SCB for more than 20 years," shares Adam Mellor, SCB trustee and lifelong advocate. Inspired by his uncle Ian, who was one of SCB's earliest service users, and his father, a former trustee, Adam's commitment to SCB is deeply personal. His family has supported SCB from the start, engaging in fundraising efforts that have left a lasting impact on the community. "SCB is the happiest, most person-centered place I’ve ever been involved with," Adam explains.
My Connection to SCB
From a young age, Adam's life was intertwined with SCB through his uncle Ian. Witnessing the positive influence SCB had on his uncle's life, Adam knew he wanted to contribute more significantly. "Seeing the safe environment and social support SCB provided, it wasn't just beneficial for Ian; it was transformative," he recalls.
The Impact of Your Support
Every donation to Adam’s run directly contributes to enhancing SCB's programs. This includes expanding daily support services, upgrading facilities, and ensuring a nurturing environment for all service users. "Your support means we can continue making a positive impact on so many lives," says Adam.
