A Challenge Built for a Purpose

Before the team even begin the main ascent, they will complete two days on the Pilgrim Way, adding distance, meaning and reflection to the journey before the mountain itself rises in front of them. Then comes the climb, steep volcanic terrain, thinning air, cold conditions and long hours on foot.

Never Leaving a Man Behind

In honour of the Armed Forces principle of never leaving a man behind, the team will carry a life size mannequin weighted to match a fully equipped combat soldier.

From the first steps of the Pilgrim Way to the final push to the summit, that weight will be shared and carried together.
