Daniel is running for Sailors' Society

Campaign by Sailors' Society

This October, I will be running my first ultramarathon in the Gold Coast 50K (GC50). This is in aid of Sailors' Society, a maritime welfare charity which supports seafarers and their families from across the globe.

For more than 200 years, international maritime charity Sailors’ Society has been transforming the lives of seafarers and their families through the delivery of virtual chaplaincy, crisis response and vital funds. For more information on the charity’s work, please visit www.sailors-society.org

Story

I am proud to say that I will be running for Sailors' Society in the 50Km Ultramarathon at this year's edition of the fisiocrem GC50 Run Festival!

I have spent my career at sea and currently work as a Staff Captain with P&O Cruises, so the work Sailors’ Society does to support seafarers and their families is something I strongly identify with and am proud to represent.

As a charity, Sailors' Society works to support the welfare of the world's 1.9 million seafarers (and their families), 24/7 and 365 days a year. Just to name a few of their services - their 24 hour Helpline allows seafarers to speak to someone either when they are in a crisis or if they just need a listening ear, and their Peer-to-Peer support groups provide a safe, virtual space to talk to other seafarers and to get advice where they might not otherwise find it. You can find out more about their services and what they do for seafarers here: https://sailors-society.org/

Every donation made will help support the incredible work Sailors' Society do for seafarers around the world. So please, give what you can!
