Dear Friends,
On the 23rd December 2018 a horrific assault took place in Chapel Way N7, the short-side entrance which separates our church from the back gardens of the tenanted houses facing Seven Sisters Road. A young girl was brutally and sexually assaulted and the police have recommended that we should put up security gates & railing to close this entrance off and secure all the church property in the same way.
This work is going to cost in the region of £35,000 but it is essential that it be undertaken not only for the benefit of the community but especially for the protection of our own parishioners.
We are also hosting a fundraising event to help us reach our £35,000 target. We would like to raise funds here for those unable to attend the event.
The event titled 'Pascha of Romiosini' will be held on Sunday 5th May at 6:30pm at Gracepoint Theatre. The performance will entail songs from the different musical cultures of Greece, Cyprus, Asia Minor, the Aegean, Macedonia, Thrace etc. It will include songs tracing back our rich musical heritage throughout the centuries, and will be enhanced by relevant texts, visual presentations and traditional Cypriot dances in costume.
Tickets are £15 and can be purchased through Aggleiki on 0207 700 0021 or anthealettings@hotmail.com.
