Story

We are a group of men, usually but not always retired, looking to fill their free time usefully. We meet in a purpose-built facility with a large meeting room and large workshop, kitchen and hobby room.

We do a range of practical activities – making garden furniture, woodturning, carving wooden spoons, repairing garden machinery and we have facilities for computing and 3D printing, We also have a large garden area

About the Charity

St Andrews Men's Shed is one of over two hundred sheds open in Scotland. The focus of a Shed is to benefit the health and wellbeing of men in Scotland and gives opportunity for inspiration, help or just a chat. As men, we know we’re not always very good at talking to others when we’re facing difficult times, or perhaps adjusting to a significant change in our situation, (such as retirement for example). We’ve created the St Andrews Men’s Shed to help men of all ages in St Andrews and surrounding areas to connect, converse and create. With activities like those of garden sheds, wood working, metal working, gardening – the group is here to reduce loneliness and isolation, but most importantly, have fun.
