Story

Can you imagine going to school but having nowhere to 'go'? This is the reality for too many children and teachers, who are forced to hold on or simply go behind a bush, a sad situation we we are trying to improve. So far, Dream Big Ghana (DBG) NGO have provided improved sanitation to 2500 pupils and teachers attending five different schools, and approximately 2200 family members through 147 family toilets. DBG are now focusing their sanitation work on other local schools who currently have no toilet facilities or existing units that are in a poor and unsafe condition. In 2022/23, DBG will be constructing brand new Ecological Sanitation (EcoSan) composting toilets at Akplorwotorkor Basic School and Bomigo Basic School, providing 378 pupils and 24 teachers with safe sanitation during the school day. The school blocks can serve up to 500 people, and feature urinals and menstrual hygiene management spaces, as well as producing compost to be used by local farmers. Can you help us bring improved sanitation to schools in the Anloga District?
