Mersea Rotary Santa Sleigh: Bringing Cheer & Raising Funds

Every December, the Mersea Rotary Club proudly hosts the community's beloved Santa Sleigh Tour, a treasured tradition that officially kicks off the Christmas season across Mersea Island and the surrounding areas. For one magical week, Santa Claus and his team of Rotary Elves tour the streets in a beautifully decorated, illuminated sleigh, filling the air with festive music and spreading holiday cheer to families, young and old. This annual spectacle is a highlight for our community, offering a chance for children to wave at Santa and for neighbours to come together.

But the Santa Sleigh is more than just a cheerful tradition, it is one of our most important fundraising efforts. Every penny collected as we tour the streets goes directly back into supporting other charities and community projects championed by the Mersea Rotary Club.
