Story
Fund a Defibrillator. Save Lives.
Every second counts when someone's heart stops (goes into cardiac arrest). In the UK, only around 1 in 10 people, who have a cardiac arrest outside of hospital, survive.
Once in cardiac arrest, for every minute without CPR and defibrillation, survival chances may decrease by around 10%. Rapid access to CPR and a defibrillator is vital.
An AED (also known as a defibrillator) is used to give an electric shock to help restart a patient's heart when they are in cardiac arrest. They are carried by local volunteer Community First Responders, who are often the first to arrive on scene, ahead of ambulance arrival.
We need to raise £400,000 to replace and upgrade 288 of these defibrillators so that volunteer Community First Responders can help to save lives before an ambulance arrives.
Every donation and every fundraising activity helps to save lives.
