Barney is a gentle 8-year-old greyhound who recently arrived at Daybreaks Trust, a rehoming centre for former racing greyhounds. Sadly, due to a change in his previous owner’s circumstances, they could no longer care for him.
When Barney arrived, it was heartbreakingly clear that he’d been suffering in silence for some time. His mouth is in such poor condition that he needs almost all of his teeth removed just to be able to eat without pain.
Can you imagine trying to eat every day with constant toothache? That’s been Barney’s reality.
Despite his discomfort, Barney has shown how clever and resilient he is. He’s even figured out how to splash water into his bowl to soften his dry food. But he shouldn’t have to live like this.
Due to the severity of Barney’s condition, he needs a specialist dental procedure. Because of the high risk of jaw fracture, the treatment is complex—and costly.
Barney turns 9 on 21st June. All we want is to give this affectionate, friendly boy the fresh start he deserves—with a mouth free from pain and a big, happy greyhound grin.
Any donation, big or small, will help make this happen.
“Barney is a friendly and affectionate boy. With his birthday just around the corner, we’d love nothing more than to give him the gift of a pain-free smile and a fresh start.”
— Luci Foulkes, Daybreaks Kennels Manager
