Story

Today, 10 Bengals and 7 domestic kittens arrived at CAT WATCH RESCUE SHELTER after days of coordination across rescues. Owners resisted releasing all the animals, a recurring issue that perpetuates neglect. The final moments of rescue were tense, with concerns over hidden animals and broken agreements. The Bengals arrived in poor condition—malnourished, scared, and infested—while the domestic kittens seem healthier. Each one now needs time, care, and compassion.

After days of coordination across multiple rescues, 10 Bengals and 7 domestic kittens have finally made it to safety with us. The process was challenging, as owners hesitated, reconsidering their decision to surrender all the animals. This is an ongoing issue—people initially want them gone but later decide to keep a few, often without neutering, leading to more animals in need.

The final moments of rescue are always tense. Will all the animals be handed over? Will agreements be honoured? Despite stepping in to take responsibility for their care, rescuers often face hostility from those giving them up—some even making vague threats about the animals’ fate if they weren’t taken. Its not easy working with rescue and getting this innocent lives to a safe place.

Now safely at CAT WATCH, the Bengals have arrived in varying conditions—some fearful, some malnourished, others suffering from flea infestations, ear mites, and eye infections, flu. The domestic kittens seem to be in better shape, though rescue experience has taught us that things aren’t always what they appear to be. The realities will unfold over the next few days and without doubt many trips to the vet will be needed.

Each of these animals needs medical attention, nourishment, and care. We’re working to ensure they receive everything necessary for recovery, but we need support. Donations help provide food, veterinary treatment, and a safe space. Every contribution makes a difference in turning their lives around.

If you can help, please consider donating today. Together, we can give them a future free from neglect.
