Organised by Little Ducklings Pre-SchoolWe are a fabulous setting rated "good" by OFSTED. We are in the sad situation that we can no longer afford to stay open. we are looking for charitable donations to keep us going while we rebuild our numbers.
We are a charity Preschool in the heart of Hangleton based within the community centre. We are run by a committee of volunteers who spend most of their time fundraising as well as supporting the managers and staff. We rely heavily on charitable donations and grants for the day to day running of the Pre-School. We have always been incredibly lucky with the donations we have received. We are now at a point that if we want to return in the new academic year in September we need your help and we need it now! Without your help we cant afford to continue.
There is a real mix of Children that attend. Some families pay for their sessions, however the majority are on a low income and rely on the government funded Childcare scheme. The issue we have, is the funding we receive from the government is so very low. This has caused a significate problem for our sustainability. We are so lucky being situated within the community centre as we are able to take the children into other groups that use the centre. One of our favourites is the Elderly group that attends. We believe that intergenerational group time is a splendid use of our time.
Some of our families are very vulnerable and we pride ourselves in the support we offer to the whole family. We believe this is paramount to help keep a harmonious home life.
We have strong family links to the community. We have had several generations of the same families though our doors and one of our staff members attended when she was Pre-School age.
We also have strong links to the 2 local Primary schools, due to safeguarding reasons and the group sharing of information. We also work very closely with the health visitors in the adjoining building of Hangleton park Children's centre, As well as Social workers. We play a big part in a group of professionals surrounding some of our more vulnerable families.
In April we were inspected by OFSTED and our Parents were thrilled with the content of the report. Our whole team are so proud of the outcome. The inspector completely got what we offer. She totally understood what sets us aside from other early years providers.
