Story
25 years of protecting Scotland’s seas — help us secure the next 25
For a quarter of a century, the Scottish Seabird Centre has been at the heart of marine conservation, education, and inspiration. From school children discovering the magic of seabirds, to pioneering conservation projects like SOS puffin, and our much-loved visitor centre that has inspired millions since it opened, together we’ve achieved so much. Yet the challenges facing our seas have never been greater.
With your help, we can invest in the vital assets that will keep our work afloat for years to come and ensure we can continue to deliver our essential work to save Scotland’s seabirds.
We need to raise at least £20,000 to refurbish our conservation boat, which allows us to take staff, volunteers and researchers on to seabird islands for vital conservation work, and to carry out urgent repairs to our buildings.
This Christmas please donate to support our critical work.
Harry Huyton
CEO, Scottish Seabird Centre
We’re incredibly proud of our SOS puffin project. It shows what a powerful difference people can make when we pull together to take action for seabirds. Puffins are at risk of extinction, but thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, returning year after year to clear tree mallow, puffin numbers on Craigleith have quadrupled since the project began in 2008. Your donations will help us continue our fight to secure the survival of this iconic species. Thank You.” Emily Burton, Conservation Manager
